Fair Trade and Co-operatives: A Match Made in Heaven?

Co-operatives for Development is organising this forum at the Co-operative Bank, no 9 Prescott Street, London, on Thursday 25^th of March (See flyer: Fair Trade and Co-operatives Forum)

Fair Trade and Co-operatives: A Match Made in Heaven? will bring together participants who are active in both the Fair Trade and co-operative movements to debate and discuss how the two can work together to bring something unique to Fair Trade. We will also be hearing from members of East African producer co-operatives about the on-the-ground challenges faced by co-operatives and how these can be supported.

This is the first such discussion to be held in the UK, aimed to build a relationship and understanding between the two movements at a time of both co-operative revival and ever-increasing growth in Fair Trade sales. At the same time, the role of co-operatives in development is receiving greater recognition, making this an exciting and timely discussion which will stimulate some exciting collaborative opportunities.
